Byron Wratee is a doctoral candidate in systematic theology at Boston College. His current research explores Howard Thurman's mystical theology and anti-Black violence against Black military veterans during the Red Summer of 1919. He received his Master of Divinity from Emory University's Candler School of Theology, a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law and a bachelor's degree in English from Stillman College.
