Politico on President Obama's failure to perceive how costly it was to lose the 2010 midterms. Elections that precede the census are critical and it was a surprise to me that Team Obama, which grasped the significance of the string of caucuses in the Democratic nominating process, failed utterly to grasp how important it was to win state-level races in 2010.
