Judge Edward Korman chastised the Obama administration because of its decision to appeal his earlier ruling that Plan B, the controversial "morning after pill" be made available to girls of any age without a prescription. The administration instead adopted a rule that the drug be made available to girls fifteen and older without a prescription. Of course, no other medicines of such strength are available to children at this young age without some form of prescription or parental consent. I understand that most sexually active girls at that age probably don't want to speak to their parents about it, but they need to speak to someone. If Judge Korman has is way, a young girl, as young as 11, who has had sex, need not interact with any adult to procure the "quick fix" pill. I note that Korman was appointed to the bench by President Ronald Reagan.
