Kudos to My Home State

While politicians in Washington tremble before the power of the NRA and prepare to do essentially nothing to curb gun violence in the U.S., legislators in my home state of Connecticut are preparing to pass the strictest gun laws in the country. Of course, seeing as cars are not searched when they cross into Connecticut, the efficacy of state laws is minimized and national action is still required, but if enough states pass strict laws and eventually those with an interest in gun ownership realize the sky has not fallen, hopefully over time the national conversation will catch up with the Nutmeggers.
