The Atlantic Wire reports that "a new study from the Women's Media Center and the 4th Estate Project found that 72 percent of newspapers articles covering the general election between April 16 and August 25 were written by men. In the primary season — January 1 through April 15 — 76 percent were."

It continues:

We are in an election year, wherein The Associated Press' Nicholas Riccardi writes that "both sides agree that this campaign has been marked by an unusual intensity of debate over women's issues, particularly reproductive rights."
