Brothers Will and Chris Haughey are in the business of doing good.
Inspired equally by their Christian faith and entrepreneurial spirit, in 2006 the Haughey brothers created Tegu, a toy company that produces and sells magnetic wooden blocks. Beyond turning a profit, Tegu is a vehicle in the fight against poverty and inhumane working conditions in Honduras, where the toys are produced.
"There are many ways people can pursue social justice and some of them can be addressed through business," CEO Will Haughey told NCR in a recent interview. "I don't know if all of them can be, but we certainly felt that poverty really spoke to a lack of job opportunities."
This lack of job opportunities in developing countries greatly influenced the Haugheys' decision to set up shop in Honduras.
