One of the largest Catholic educational gatherings in the world is marking its 60th anniversary in 2016. The annual Los Angeles Religious Education Congress -- an event that educates and recruits catechists and fosters religious education among adults and teens -- attracts more than 30,000 people from around the globe to Anaheim, Calif.
"There's always more that we can learn and know and experience about our faith and about God and about how to live as disciples," said Fr. Christopher Bazyouros, director of the Office of Religious Education at the Los Angeles archdiocese.
This year, the four-day event runs Feb. 25-28 at the Anaheim Convention Center and features 300 workshops, more than 200 speakers, as well as liturgical services and daily Mass. Workshop topics include family, parenting for young adults, personal growth, and music. Sessions are held in English, Spanish and Vietnamese.
